Some of you might think why I have decided to
name my blog as "The visual therapy". The answer is very simple. The
visualization of still life can be regarded by many as a therapy for the eye.
Namely, it reflects the true value, simplicity and authenticity of an item in
question by looking for ways of getting the essence of a subject down in the
most revealing way. I strive for simplicity to bring out the beauty in the most
ordinary scenes. I want to create the world that I want to live in. I want to
surround myself with positive visualizations and inspirations that will remind
me of the world that I want to create.
Brief:
To create an inspiring 4-5 page Still life
Fashion Editorial for a magazine of your choice. The shoot should be based around 2 main
components, your food research, art and cultural research development and your
chosen/sourced accessories, which are inspired by future trends and stories
from the Spring/Summer 2014 shows.
You will develop your research to create a narrative based on your combination of early research stages. Your food research begins with our North West food experience where you will record (film and photography) both visuals and make diary entries of your findings in the form of a blog. The blog then can be developed and continued research can be posted to form ideas in terms of food in general, food within art and still life, food displays, presentation and social dining trends and movements within food and food styling.
It has taken me a few days with this brief to initially get my head around the task at hand. I have re read the brief now several times and I think I am ready to begin.
